The Park is located in the northwestern part of the state in the Ozark Mountains. The Visitor Center is ten miles north of Rogers (Highway 62).

Open year round. Peak visitor month is July. Winters are mild, Summers are hot and humid.
POINTS OF INTEREST
The Union victory here on March 7-8, 1862, in one of the major engagements of the Civil War west of the Mississippi, led to the Union's total control of Missouri.
Overnight accommodations are available in Rogers, ten miles from the Park. Camping is available at Beaver Lake, ten miles away. Food and supplies are available in Garfield, Pea Ridge, and Rogers. The nearest hospitals are in Rogers and Bentonville.
